Square-Enix have finally decided to shed new light on the release date of Final Fantasy XV. During the company’s Active Time Report Broadcast held at PAX Prime in Seattle on Saturday, Aug.
29, Final Fantasy XV game director, Hajime Tabata, confirmed that the game will see release in 2016 for PS4 and Xbox One. Though he didn’t share exactly when in 2016 the game would see release, Tabata did go on to explain that such an announcement will be made in early 2016 at a major Square-Enix event.
Following the confirmation of a 2016 release date for Final Fantasy XV, Hajime Tabata confirmed that Square-Enix will be holding a major event in March 2016. At this event, the company will officially announce the release date for Final Fantasy XV.
New game footage and information will come prior to then as the company plans to have the game on display at the Tokyo Game Show and host another Final Fantasy XV focused event towards the end of this year.
Final Fantasy XV, originally known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, was announced at E3 2006 as a PS3 exclusive. The title then reappeared at E3 2013 and was announced for both PS4 and Xbox One.
A demo for FFXV was packaged with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which was release earlier this year for PS4 and Xbox One.
No additional release date information was provided at this time. However, with the company planning to announce the release date in early 2016, one can speculate that Final Fantasy XV could see release as early as the Summer 2016.
